Frequently Asked Questions

  • You are sent a HIPAA compliant link to access the telehealth sessions.

Once you’re on, sessions are a collaborative space where we will work with whatever you want to focus on that day. If there’s no topic, we figure it out together. We are continuously working on your short and long term goals along with holding space for anything that comes up outside of those goals!

  • Sessions are $200 for 50 minutes and tailored to your needs.

My approach is highly specialized in trauma informed therapy, anxiety, and identity exploration, helping you break patterns that have felt impossible to change. If you’re interested, we can discuss out-of-network superbills.

  • Out of network therapy is when you pay the full fee upfront and then (if desired) work with your insurance to get reimbursed afterwards.

There are a few benefits with this approach that can make it worth it:

    1. Maintaining your privacy: Therapists are not required to take as detailed notes, or to give you an official diagnosis, so the content of your sessions is much more private and you don’t need to have a diagnosis on your record.

    2. Flexibility: Insurance often covers only a set number of sessions and may cut their payment of therapy short even if you still want to continue. With out of network, the frequency and duration of therapy is fully up to you.

    3. Dedication to your treatment through high quality therapy: When therapists primarily work with out of network clients, they often take on less clients in total, reducing the chance of you ending up with a burnt out therapist. You have a higher chance of getting a therapist energized, ready to focus on you, and give you the dedicated support you need to reach your goals.

  • Your insurance might help cover the cost of therapy, even if I’m not in-network for your insurance! Many plans offer out-of-network benefits, which means you could get reimbursed for a portion of each session.

And you don’t have to figure this out on your own. I partner with Thrizer so we can check your benefits for you and let you know exactly what you’d pay per session before we even get started.

If you have OON benefits, you may only owe a copay at each session instead of the full fee. Want to see what that looks like for you? Contact me and let’s see.

  • Any late cancellations or no shows 24 hours or less of the session will incur a cancellation fee.

  • My license only lets me work as a trauma informed therapist in California and Florida, so for now I can’t work with you unless you physically reside in California or Florida.

  • Business hours are Monday to Wednesday from 10AM to 5PM PT / 1PM to 8PM ET. Reach out to see my current availability for time slots.

  • Everyone is different in how long they need to be in therapy, so we can’t give specific estimates on how long therapy for childhood trauma will last.

Sometimes you come in to learn a few skills, and then we uncover a lot that ends up taking a few months to more than a year. Sometimes you come in for something that seems really big, but gets resolved in a month.

We will continually check in to monitor your progress towards your goals and whether or not continuing therapy is right for you at the time.

  • I want to be sure that when you work with me and invest in therapy, we work to get you the results you’re looking for. The therapy I offer works best when clients can commit consistently—weekly—for a period of time. If you're looking for a therapist for occasional, bi-weekly, or as-needed sessions, I may not be the right therapist for you.

  • I currently take Aetna insurance.

For my out of network clients whose insurance I do not take, superbills will be provided and may help with insurance reimbursement! Please reach out with questions for this.

  • That’s totally understandable! Therapy should not add to your financial stress.

If you’re not ready to invest in therapy, you can access a free reflection I created to help you start to notice the trauma living in your thoughts and emotions.

I’ve also put together a list of mental health resources including books and tools.
